Reigning in Life

Text: Rom. 5:17
Upon accepting Christ as your saviour, you receive “an abundance of grace & the gift of righteousness” Righteousness isn’t something you work out, it’s a gift of God
If you’re a born again Christian, you’re a holy & righteous person whom the devil is trying to convince to commit sin. You’re a healed person the devil’s trying to make sick
Because you’re in Christ & have received the abundance of grace, you have been made whole
Who are those who reign in life? Naturally, it’s kings who reign. According to our text, once we’re in Christ, we qualify to reign in life.
Gen. 17:2-6 – According to the promise of God to us here & in Rev 5:10, we are made kings once we come to the knowledge of & accept Christ into our lives
To reign means to have 3 things:
- Control
- Rule
- Influence
Declaration: As a king through Christ, who reigns in life I have control over all aspects of my life. Nothing will rule over me in Jesus’ name
Gal. 3:26-39, Rom 8:17 – We are joint heirs with Christ. We are eligible to inherit all that God has laid down for us
Gal 3:27 – As Christians, we have put on Christ (taken on His nature & character) & we now have the right to receive the inheritance that’s due us
The promise that was made to Abraham isn’t attainable through bloodlines, but through faith to those who have come to believe in Christ.
Recap: By faith, you’re a king & also a heir to the promise of God to Abraham. You are qualified to receive A Thousand Times More in 2015
Eccl 8:4 – Realise that you’re a king and your words carry power. Through your words, exercise rule and control over the circumstances your life
Declaration: According to Gal 3:29, I am a king and a joint heir with Christ. I inherit all that God has laid down for me
Declaration: According to Gen 15:2, I am not a pauper & won’t lack. I will have what I say in 2015
Declaration: According to Deut 28, I am blessed going out; coming in & all about me is blessed. In 2015, I will have A Thousand Times More of everything I want
